Frequently Asked Questions

Up to 10 Tracks ($149) is for songs with a beat, lead vocals, and a few ad libs or harmonies. It's the right fit for most rap and trap.
Full Trackout ($299) is for songs with a tracked-out beat (kick, 808, snare, and the rest) or lots of vocal layers, like R&B and pop. More tracks means more control, so the mix comes out bigger and cleaner.
Not sure? Message me and I'll point you to the right one.

Send raw, 24-bit WAV files, exported from the very start of the song so everything lines up in time. Name each file clearly (Lead Vocal, Ad Libs, Harmony 1, 808, Kick, etc.). 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz is preferred.
No processing, effects, or plugins on your tracks. Raw files give me the most control to build the mix. If there's a specific effect you want, you can leave it on, but I most likely won't be able to reverse or fine-tune it.
Up to 10 Tracks: send your beat and your vocals.
Full Trackout: send every track in your session, including the beat split out by kick, 808, snare, and the rest.A reference song and a few notes on what you're going for help a lot. You'll get upload instructions by email and at checkout.

2 revisions are included with every mix and master. Listen on your own speakers, in the car, and on your earbuds, then send me your notes.
Be as detailed as you can. Give me timestamps and specifics, like "vocal is too quiet at 1:05" or "808 needs more punch in the second verse." Clear notes get you the right changes faster and keep you from using up your revisions.
After your 2 included revisions, each additional revision is $50.

Most mixes and masters are back in 5-7 days, as long as there are no issues with your files or recordings. Full Trackout sessions with a lot of tracks can take a little longer. If anything changes, I'll let you know right away so you're never left guessing.

Once I have your files and there are no issues with them, I get to work. You'll get your mix and master back in 5-7 days. Listen on your own speakers, in the car, and on your earbuds. If there are any changes you would like you can then send me your notes. 2 revisions are included. When the mix is approved, I’ll master the song and get you the final files, ready for release.

Every order is handled fairly, and here's how it works:
Picked the wrong option: If you chose Full Trackout and your song didn't need it, I'll offer you an additional song or a discount code for a free mix.
Problems with your files: If your files are too noisy or have issues, I'll ask you to re-send them the right way. If we can't get usable files, you'll get credit for the same value toward your next song.
Late or can't deliver: If your order takes more than 14 days, or I can't deliver for a reason outside my control, you get a full refund.
After revisions: Your 2 included revisions are how we get the mix right, so refunds aren't available once the mix has been delivered and revised.

mixing vs. Mastering
what is the difference?
-
Mixing is where a pile of separate recordings becomes one song. Your song is made of tracks: the beat, the lead vocal, ad libs, harmonies. On their own, they're just ingredients.
Think of it like cooking. You can have the best ingredients in the world, but they only become a great meal when someone balances them: not too much salt, the right heat, everything working together. Mixing is that step for your music. I set the volume of every sound, shape the tone with EQ and compression, add effects like reverb and delay, and place everything so your vocals sit up front and the drums and bass hit hard, with nothing fighting for space.
A good mix is why a song sounds full, clear, and powerful instead of messy or flat.
-
Mastering is the final step before your song goes out into the world. If mixing is cooking the meal, mastering is the final taste test and plating. The meal is already made, but now it gets that last touch of seasoning and gets presented the right way, so it's ready to be served anywhere.
I take your finished mix and polish it: balancing the overall tone, bringing it up to a competitive volume, and making sure it sounds great on every speaker, from earbuds and car stereos to club systems. I also prepare your final files for Spotify, Apple Music, and radio. If you're releasing an EP or album, mastering also makes sure every song sounds like it belongs together.
A good master is why your song sounds loud, clean, and professional next to everything else on the playlist.
-
Almost always, yes. Back to the kitchen: you can't plate a meal that hasn't been cooked. Mixing comes first, then mastering finishes the job. Skip the mix and the master only polishes a messy song. Skip the master and a great mix can still sound quiet or uneven next to other songs.
That's why most of my orders are Mix & Master: one engineer, one sound, start to finish.
The one exception: if your song has already been professionally mixed and you just need that final polish for release, choose Mastering Only.
Not sure which one you need? Send me your song and I'll tell you.

A great song deserves to be heard the way you meant it. Here's what a professional brings that an app or a quick DIY mix can't:
Trained ears. After 15+ years and 7,000+ sessions, I know what a mix needs in seconds, and I can hear problems you'd never notice on airpods or your car.
Fresh, objective ears. When you've heard your song or demo 500 times, you can't judge it anymore. I can.
Gear and monitoring. Professional speakers and gear show me what's really goin’ on in the song.
Experience in your genre. I've worked on 500+ artist credits across Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, and many other genres. I know what the records you're competing with sound like.
It's the difference between a home-cooked meal and one from a chef. Both can be good, but one is made by someone who does it every day.
-
You can, and for a quick demo or a rough preview, those apps are a fine option. But there are limits:
It follows a formula. An app analyzes your song and applies similar settings to everything. It can't tell what your song is going for, or what the artists you're up against sound like.
It can't fix a mix. Mastering only works on the finished stereo file, so if the vocals are buried or the low end is muddy, an app has nothing it can do about it. With a professional mix and master, those problems get fixed before the final polish.
You can't give it notes. If something sounds off, you're stuck re-running the same process. With me, you tell me what you hear and I adjust it.
No one is accountable for the result. When I deliver your song, I stand behind it.
Think of it as a microwave meal versus a chef who asks what you like. One is fast and fine. The other is made for you.
Releasing something that matters? Have a human do it.
